CoachBob is an application for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch that assists youth soccer coaches in assigning positions to players (including automatic assignment based on percentage of the game played, if desired), as well as tracking game scores and player statistics for your team.

CoachBob supports several different field layouts and formations, and we will be adding more as requested by our users. If you already have CoachBob and would like to see a different layout/formation, email us the details, and we can add it!

When setting up your team information, CoachBob allows you to:

• Copy a pre-existing team with all its players (for example, when entering a new season)
• Create one or more new teams, each with its own field layout, and mark that team as active or inactive for the current season
• Create a list of players for each team
• Specify for each player whether they play offense, midfield, defense, or goal
• Specify contact information, birthday, shirt number, etc, and choose a photo for each player
• Specify which player is responsible for bringing snacks to each game
• Create a list of upcoming games with date/time, location, home vs. away, etc.
• Print or email a "Team Information" page that includes player information and game schedule, as well as a calendar of games that can be imported into your favorite calendar application - see our Sample Team Information page
• Specify which statistics you would like to track for this team, including your own custom statistics

On game day, you can enter "Today's Game" for your team (or you can set it up ahead of time, if desired), and use the following features:

• Specify attendance for each player
• Create position assignments using any of the following:
  • Manually selecting a non-assigned player for each position
  • Automatically filling all open positions with players who play that kind of position
  • Substituting a specified number of players not currently on the field into the game (randomly, but subbing out players who have been in the game the longest)
• A substitution time reminder notice will popup at the interval you specify
• At player substitution time, view who is replacing who on the field
• View all previous position assignments
• View the current "bench" (those players not currently assigned to the lineup)
• View the history of assignments for a particular position
• View the history of position assignments for a particular player
• eMail a list of the configured lineups (e.g., to assistant coaches)
• Track the score of the game
• Enter which player scored each goal for your team
• Track other player statistics of your choosing
• Monitor the time elapsed in the game (to assist in knowing when to make substitutions)
• Use the "team whiteboard" feature to hand-draw on a field diagram
• Make game-specific notes (for example, what to work on in the next practice)

After the game, you can:

• View, print, or email the statistics summary for the game or whole season
• View and change game-specific notes (for example, what to work on in the next practice)
• eMail the list of lineups along with playing time percentages and attendance
